Youth labor social accountability with unions, civil society, women, and informal workers in Mombasa.
The Youth Labor Social Accountability Project was a 12-month effort supported by the Solidarity Center in Mombasa County, focused on Changamwe and Jomvu.
Its objective was to bolster civic participation of trade unions, civil society, women, and youth in the informal economy in policy advocacy and accountability.
The approach joined unions and civil society so each could strengthen the other: a louder labor voice in Mombasa and Kisumu, deeper cooperation between the labor movement and other organizations, and more influence over policies that protect workers, including women, youth in the informal economy, and public service workers.
