Stretchers Youth Organization

Thematic area

Human rights and gender mainstreaming

Every person deserves the freedom to live with dignity, equality, and opportunity.

Young people, women, and marginalized communities still meet barriers rooted in discrimination, harmful norms, and unequal access to education, healthcare, economic opportunity, leadership, and justice.

We have worked alongside young people in schools, community centres, informal settlements, and rural communities. We have listened to girls determined to finish school, young women stepping into leadership, young men challenging harmful stereotypes, and communities building safer spaces.

Through dialogues, advocacy, leadership programmes, civic education, and partnerships, we help people know their rights, raise their voices, and become champions of equality. We also work with families, schools, leaders, government, and development partners on the systems and attitudes that keep barriers in place.

When every person is respected, every voice is valued, and every opportunity is shared, communities become stronger. Equality should be a reality, not only an aspiration.

How we create change here

Human rights awareness

Communities learn their rights and responsibilities so people can decide and advocate for themselves and others.

Gender equality

Equal opportunity, a challenge to harmful gender norms, and meaningful participation of women, girls, boys, and men.

Protecting vulnerable communities

Initiatives that address discrimination, gender-based violence, social exclusion, and other barriers to dignity.

Inclusive leadership

Confidence, skills, and platforms for young people — especially women and marginalized groups — to lead and decide.

Partnerships for change

Collaboration with government, civil society, community leaders, and development partners on lasting policy and programmes.
